Arthur Maxwell Field, 91, of Blacksburg, Va., died on September 5, 2010 at Kroontje Health Care Center. In addition to his parents and a sister, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Webb Field.

Madison Ray Fitzgerald, 46, of Christiansburg, Va., died suddenly at his home on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. He was born on October 12, 1963, in Lynchburg, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Valice and Clyde Fitzgerald.

Sadie Frances Garner, 56, of Pulaski, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. Born September 26, 1953 in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Helen Safewright Garner.

James Corbin (Jim) Harvey, 58, of Blue Ridge, Va., passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born to the late Horace Harvey Sr. and Lillie Harvey.

Joyce Bradley Hollandsworth, 67, of Riner, Va., passed into heaven after a 20 year battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

Emmett Roy Kast, 73, of Goldbond, Va., departed this life on Tuesday evening, September 7, 2010, at his home in the care of his family and Carilion Hospice. Born at Kerns, now Goldbond, on September 23, 1936, he was a son of the late James David and Virginia Jannie Kast, and stepson of the late Grace Kast.

Donald Curtis Laffoon, , 62, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010. He was born May 14, 1948, in Roanoke, Va. to the late Curtis Paul and Virginia Hodnett Laffoon.

Orpah Akeyo Mackasmiel of Blacksburg, Va., and Kenya, died on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at the Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, Va., (USA) after a long battle against end-stage renal disease that was preceded by diabetes and high blood pressure.

Barbara Julia Runions Morris, 86, of Pearisburg, Va., departed this life Wednesday morning, September 8, 2010, at the home of her daughter and caregiver in Lexington, Va. Born on June 6, 1924, in Pearisburg, she was a daughter of the late Jessie Andrew and Mary Davis Runions and stepdaughter of the late Bessie Runions.

Dianna Lee Singleton Pickering, 67, of Radford, Va. and formerly of Emmaus, Pa. and South Bend, Ind., died on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at her home surrounded by family. She was born September 8, 1942 in Danville, Ill., to the late Arthur J. Singleton and Maryel "Pat" (Patrick) Singleton.

Paul Clifford Shelor, 84, of Dublin, Va., died Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at his residence. He was born September 27, 1925, in Patrick County, Va., and was the son of the late Clarice Blackard Shelor and Jesse J. Shelor.

Harold Emmanuel Smith, 80, of Dublin, died Tuesday September 7, 2010. Arrangements by Seagle Funeral Home, Pulaski.
